A new look for Kali Mirchi
An Indian restaurant has reopened following a revamp.
The Kali Mirchi on Shirley High Street had been shut for a week but celebrated its relaunch with a meal on the house for its most loyal customers.
Southampton Mayor Ivan White cut the ribbon on the reopening.
The refurbishment included changes to the interior like new wallpaper and new lighting with chandeliers, as well as new signage outside and a new menu.
Owner Madan Pandey, who opened the restaurant four years ago, said the restaurant will now also be offering to provide food at venues outside the restaurant such as birthday parties or weddings as they had been asked to do in the past, but had previously refused.
He said the new look was designed to be traditional with a modern twist.
"I feel like time to time we need refreshment - all my regulars who keep coming they will remember all our menu and say I don't need to see the menu so I thought this is a good time to redecorate the restaurant and redesign the restaurant menu," he added.
